While the web industry market is going through a revolution and new directories are coming up each day, the market is going through a buzz but at the same time the number of quality resource directories is way low beyond the number of directories that emerge on the webosphere on daily basis. While a directory can better be judged on the basis of maturity and age there are some other unique qualities that a web directory should posses in order to qualify as a Quality web directory, which includes

• A unique category structure,
• Strict guidelines and accepting only quality sites and resources,
• A decent layout and design i.e easy navigation and user friendly
• Decent marketing strategy that brings only targetted traffic.

While other factors maybe involved such as how well it ranks in SERP’s and the Pagerank but for a quality directory i think the afro mentioned qualities backed up by a decent targetted traffic are the best medicine. While i was writing this article i came across a directory advertised in a directory resource site and i really liked its unique and clean design and not to mention the logo (truly going with the name Argus) and the more i went browsing the directory i was really impressed as i saw only quality sites listed in the Internet,Business and Shopping categories, in fact after fully reviewing the directory it qualifies the whole afro mentioned qualities i mentioned above for a web directory to be rated as a quality resource.

The other thing i liked about the site is the features that it provides like offering deep links for submission, a detailed category page with Alexa details, whois information etc and additional site resources. As a submitter the other good thing that i see is the Page rank specially in a web directory but i was happy to see Argus Vision Directory with a home page of Pr 6 and the most categories as PR 5. Definitely a quality resource directory and a must submit to if you have a quality site to list in.
