Why study Ecnomics when its practical to books only and not in real life?

I had a very very bad paper today for the Macro Economics course, its not my first time with Economics but i am a “C” grader in the previous course of Economics as well. This is probably one of the few subjects that i am not made for, i don’t know why but i study alot for the subject and yet when it comes to exams i get the feeling all that i studied was a peace of bullshit and all the graphs, curves, theorems and theories get jumbled up, the result is a complete failure or the worst passing.

Although most of my class mates find it interesting cos they’ve the concept of Learning everything by heart phenomenon whereas i tend to emphasis more on understanding the subject but sigh(right one day before the exam), the main reason behind the topics like Keynessian Theory of Incomes, Classical Theories, Managed Forex Trading Account, Aggregate Demand and Aggregate Supply etc not sticking up to my brains is that most of the stuff is limited to the books only and there to make students like me fail, i wonder why study something that is not even practical in the real life? Even our own teacher would give us the entire lecture and end up saying that since these are not fully practical in the real life so the best thing is just to understand what’s written in the book. Holy! ME…Business students will study economics just cos they have to, its in the course outline, and when the hell will the course outline change or update?
