The definition of social media is changing day by day with the advent of new technology and its evolution, which in return has given it a new name in the form of NEW MEDIA.
In1990’s the new media used to mean computer-related media such as presentations, cd-roms,videos etc anything that was not simply related to bookish form. Business has always been an integral part of the human society unlike the animal and plant society and as everything evolved so did business too and along with it the communication related to the business evolved by leaps and bounds,giving rise to a Audience Response System Software which enabled most of them to realize alot of feedback that helped them gain more and more.
Come 1999 a publication changed it all by reminding businessmen that markets are basically conversations and if you try to finish them from the market then the market it finished in return.
From there another concept of internet being a social tool of marketing evolved, because it gave and edge of being more connected,collaborative and transparent. It not only helped in better focusing on your goals but also made way to find the key influencer’s for a company who could in return create a ripple effect for them in the market.
The major key that it helped in understanding was that the negative feedback in the market has always been there but now with the advent of this technological change it has been captured and archived
